Taking the guess work out of it

Using the latest technology, our Nidek autorefractor will accurately provide our Optometrist with your refractive error (prescription). This gives a starting point for determining the correct prescription for your visual needs.

Measuring how light changes on entering the eye, the autorefractor can determine when a patient's eye focuses an image clearly and what powers are needed to do so.

As the name says, everything is automatic!

Once you are positioned correctly, the machine does everything itself.

Eidon Widefield Fundus Camera

Our widefield fundus camera enables us to see 200˚ of your retina, in a standard sight test we can see about 90˚.

The picture to the left shows you the image produced by the Eidon. The yellow circle indicates what the Optometrist can view using more traditional methods.

The Eidon's widefield function is particularly crucial as it helps to improve the detection, analysis and monitoring of pathologies that could arise in the periphery of the retina. The Eidon provides our Optometrist high resolution and true colour images.

Heidelberg 4D OCT Retinal Scan

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive imaging test that uses light waves to take cross-sectional pictures of your retina.

Each of the retina’s layers can be seen with details discernible to micrometres using the OCT. Traditional methods only enable our Optometrist to see the very top layer of the retina.

We can detect eye conditions much earlier than the regular sight test and overtime we can make direct comparisons to your previous images and therefore monitor any changes.
